Tube Tek - CNC tube profiling




The Light Aircraft Company Ltd designed and built a custom CNC machine to cope (profile) both ends of a tube whilst holding outstanding accuracey of both profile, tube length and angular registration, and using conventional cutting technology.


This CNC machine, combined with our ability to extract the profile data direct from a 3D solid model, enables us to produce components and assemblies to very high tolerence levels and withoutstanding repeatability in a convenient process with minimum post processing clean up.

The Tube Tek cutting process provides precision fit, no gaps to fill, perfect preparation for optimal welding.


Our profile cutting is a proprietary machining process using a conventional rotary cutter. This produces a clean cut surface in tube sizes as small as 0.250” outside diameter.


The being cut with conventional cutting tools leaves a surface without heat affected zones or surface impurities which is particularly important with 4130N chrome moly tubing and other tube materials.



Our profiling process has manyapplications including Aviation, Automotive, Marine, Military and many other applications.


Our tube bending service completes all your needs.


Our unique process for extracting the profile data and generating the tool path ensures 100% contact around the complete perimeter regardless of the tube cluster.


The profile cutting program for each tube is generated, catalogued and stored as ‘soft tooling’. If a replacement tube is needed, a new tube can be produced very quickly with 100% repeatability.
